We are currently hiring a Health Records Specialist II based in Worcester. The Specialist role will be responsible for preforming advanced document management, including intake, review, scanning, indexing, and correction of patient records. Manages incoming record requests by verifying authorization and preparing documents for release, while maintaining compliance logs and tracking systems. Ensures the integrity, accessibility, and confidentiality of health records in accordance with performance standards, SOPs, and privacy regulations, delivering culturally and linguistically appropriate service.

Essential Functions:
Receive, track, and log incoming documents
Review for accuracy; scan and index into the EHR
File records in compliance with federal/state laws and company policies
Identify and correct batch errors; participate in audits
Verify request validity and determine releasable information
Complete, route, and facilitate authorization signatures
Prepare and distribute approved records
Maintain compliance logs and documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills:
3+ years’ experience in health information management, medical records, or related healthcare setting
Certification required: RMA, RHIA, or CEHRS
Strong knowledge of HIPAA and release of information protocols
Proficient in EHR systems and document scanning/indexing tools
Experience processing records requests and verifying authorizations
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
Professional communication skills; able to work with internal teams and external requestors
English proficiency
Demonstrated discretion and integrity with sensitive health information
